Lt. Mike Zarbo of the Buffalo Fire Department is raising money for Special Olympics. By raising $1000 he has the privilege of rappelling off the Seneca Niagara Casino. Letter from Mike:

"This is a once in a lifetime event!! Over the Edge is a unique opportunity for
individuals to rappel off of Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, while
raising much needed funds for the athletes of Special Olympics New York!

Thursday, July 29, 2010!

I am doing this in the name of all firefighters in WNY, but especially in memory
of my two friends Chip McCarthy and Jonathan Croom. It is coming up on the one
year anniversary of their death. I must raise $1000 dollars to participate in
this event. No donation is too small. It all adds up, even $1 or $5 at a time.
All money must be in by July 8th 2010. This is a great way to raise money for a
worthy cause and to have some real exciting fun. Please help by donating or
spreading the word. The more people we can get to donate, the easier it will be
to reach our goal of $1000 dollars. Let's show the Special Olympics what the
Fire Service is all about. Let's shatter the $1000 goal."

Please visit Buffalo Fire Local 282 "Ride for Roswell" page to donate money to raise funds for critical research and patient care at one of the nation's top comprehensive cancer centers - Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The money they raise will help researchers and physicians better understand the causes of cancer and discover new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. In our 1st year as a team they raised over $8,000 dollars & with your help hope to exceed it in 2010.
